Campaign for County Commissioner
GREENWOOD, Neb. – Today, Greenwood resident and native, Alex DeGarmo, announced he is running as a Republican for Cass County Commissioner in District Three.
“As a lifelong resident of Cass County, a staunch conservative, and a dedicated advocate of the Second Amendment, I am running because Cass County needs a new voice that focuses on efficiency and modernization of county processes,” said DeGarmo.
“We need representation on a local level that will fight for lower property taxes, streamlined and modernized county services, and increased rural childcare accessibility while maintaining fiscal responsibility.”
DeGarmo is a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate and is a dedicated public servant working in a rural State Senator’s office at the Nebraska State Legislature. Having spent his entire life as a Cass County resident, he understands the needs of Cass County citizens and how he can be a voice for them. DeGarmo also is an active member of the Nebraska Federation of Young Republicans and is a previous recipient of the annual Leader of Tomorrow Award from the Republican Party of Nebraska.
If you would like to learn more about Alex’s plans for Cass County, or would like to help Alex modernize Cass County, you can reach him at 402-314-3572, degarmo4casscounty@gmail.com, his Facebook https://www.facebook.com/degarmo4casscounty

AGPS Foundation Dinner: April 29th
All Are Welcome!
Did you realize this amazing event is for EVERYONE? Have you been waiting for a chance to get involved and support our students? Are you in need of a fun and exciting night? Do you like to see students recognized for their success? Curious who won the prestigious Alice Raikes Distinguished Teaching Award for 2022? Want to hear the Ashland-Greenwood Alumni of the Year Award winners speak? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you should consider joining us at the Ashland-Greenwood Public School’s Foundation Dinner on Friday, April 29th. Did we share....it is for EVERYONE! Please join us.
The Ashland-Greenwood Public School Foundation will be holding its annual dinner, silent and live auction on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Round The Bend Steakhouse. The evening starts off with a 6:00 p.m. social hour followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now. They can be purchased for $40.00 at the Lutton Law Office, 1442 Silver Street, Ashland, the Ashland-Greenwood District Office, 705 N. 17th Avenue, Suite #3, Ashland, or from a Foundation Board Member. This is a time for us to celebrate Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools and our community by recognizing students, faculty, staff and outstanding alumni.
This year the foundation will be honoring Deborah (Roeber) VanOverbeke (Class of 1992) and Breanne (Hanson) Gullickson (Class of 2005) as the outstanding alumni. The Raikes family will also be awarding one deserving teacher the Alice Raikes Distinguished Teaching Award. This is a great social event that allows people to mingle with friends, alumni, faculty, and folks that you may not have seen in a while. It's a great time, and a great way to support our school district and community.
The funds raised from the 2022 dinner will help the foundation continue to support many worthy programs and projects such as: teacher grants, student scholarships, and middle school/high school courtyard renovations.
Hope to see you all there!

Due to costs, the Cass County Election Office is not sending postcards for Vote by Mail to voters. To get your EARLY VOTING BALLOT APPLICATION, you may pick one up at the post office, (where they were placed earlier this year), at the Election Office, or print this form and send it to Cass County Election Commissioner, 201 Main St, Plattsmouth NE 68048.
Take care of this SOON, so the Election Office will have time to process your request and get the ballot to you in time for the primary election in May.

BLOOD AND PLATELET DONORS NEEDED
Wildfires, record-breaking heat and a busy hurricane season can also impact the nation’s blood supply. On top of the toll extreme weather events take on the lives of millions, disasters can cause blood drive closures or prevent donors from being able to give safely.
