NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Regular Meeting of the Greenwood Board of Trustees will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the E.L. McDonald Community Center, 619 Main Street, Greenwood, Nebraska. Said meeting is open and the public is encouraged to attend. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to adjourn to Executive Session per State Statute 84-1410. The open meetings act is posted in the meeting room for the public to view.

Pink Out to Kick Off Fourth Year

Entire AGPS Community Invited to Participate

Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools in conjunction with Saunders County Medical Center will be hosting several events to provide support directly to Saunders County breast cancer patients.  

The first will be held on September 19th during the AG softball game against Raymond Central.   If you would like a shirt for this game your order should be turned in by the end of the day September 15th. 

The second Pink Out will be held on October 2nd during the  AG Cross Country dual at Platteview.   

The third Pink Out will be held on October 19th during the AG volleyball game against Seward.  

The final Pink Out will be held on October 20th during the AG football game against Raymond Central.  

Attached is an order form that can be returned, with payment, to the MS/HS media center.  The new design for 2016 includes all of the schools in Saunders County.

The Louisville Area food bank will have new hours beginning Sept. 7th

The Louisville Area Food Bank will be open on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 6-7 p.m. beginning on Sept. 7th.
The food bank is located in the First Christian Church 304 Main St. next to Copple's in Louisville.
Low income residents are welcome to come to the twice a month give away. Please bring a box to put items in.
This food bank is for residents of the Louisville Public School District.

Cass County Court Appointed

Special Advocates (CASA)

 Cass Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is currently recruiting CASA advocates to speak up for the best interest of abused and neglected children in Cass County.

 The next training session is scheduled to begin October 1 and will run for five weeks.  The training consists of 15 hours of online training and 15 hours of in-person training.  We are also seeking male volunteers for this class as over 60% of our CASA children are males.  If you are interested, please contact Debbie Green at (402) 296-9521; email

Sunday, October 15, 2:30 PM, 21st Annual Schoolhouse Fiddling Bee

Greenblatt & Seay proudly announce the 21st  ANNUAL SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLING BEE.  This historical, hysterical event will take place on Sunday, October 15, at 2:30 PM, downstairs in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse. 

In the Open Division, fiddlers will play a hoedown, a waltz, and a tune of choice.  There will also be other divisions of competition available for the adventurous fiddlers, including a Twin Fiddler's Contest, and a Fee-Fi-Faux Fiddler's Contest (fiddle tunes played on any instrument other than a fiddle).

Registration for contestants starts at 1:30 PM.  For more information,

Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, and $1.00 for children.  Fiddlers and their back-ups are admitted for free.  The contest will be followed by a light snack and an acoustic jam session with Greenblatt & Seay.

The historic Old Avoca Schoolhouse was built in 1925, and has been the home of the Schoolhouse Performance Series since 1990.  Music lessons, workshops, fiddle camps, and field trips are offered by Schoolhouse residents, Greenblatt & Seay, and are available by appointment.
