NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the Greenwood Board of Trustees was held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday June 27, 2017, at the E.L. McDonald Community Center, 619 Main Street, Greenwood, Nebraska. Said meeting is open and the public is encouraged to attend. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to adjourn to Executive Session per State Statute 84-1410. The open meetings act is posted in the meeting room for the public to view.
Chair Criswell called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and publicly stated to all in attendance that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act and a copy of all documents being discussed at the meeting were available for inspection and indicated the location of such copies in the room where the meeting was being held.
Talked about the grant and are hoping to hear back on whether it has been approved within the next couple of weeks. Criswell explained that the grant is a matching grant and that it was applied for with the funds that the village could afford.
Krings talked about raising money and donation. Krings also stated that a line item can be added to the village accounting system to collect donation for the project. Criswell stated that the village would contact HBE (village auditor) to make sure everything is done properly.
There were question as to what happened to an old community center fund account in the village funds. Fiala is unaware of any account as there has not been one since she has been the clerk. Piehl has agreed to do the research to find the history of this account and the funds that were in it.
Agreement between the board and the renovation committee is the village will finish the business side of the building the renovation committee will complete the social hall side while all working together.
